What is this HMA thing?

Friends, we are having a blast, which is totally the opposite of what I was anticipating! The truth is that when we began this journey I was apprehensive about this whole Homeland Ministry Assignment thing.  (HMA is the time spent traveling, speaking and building prayer and financial partners).  I was overwhelmed by the God-sized amount that we needed to raise and had no clue how we could joyfully travel every weekend as a family of six. Thankfully God has brought about great excitement! To me the coolest part of HMA has been the conversations that God has blessed us with.  Just last night we met with a young woman who heard us speak, sought us out after church and is now planning a short term missions trip to Uganda! How awesome is that?

Here are a few photo highlights of this months HMA journey:

We Metzes are becoming known as the "carry-in crew". When we began this season of building our team and traveling to different churches we wanted to make sure we created opportunities to get to know people. We thought "what's better than a carry-in after church?"  We invite everyone to bring their favorite dish to share and we provide hotdogs.  On several occasions my dad has brought his grill and prepared the hot dogs for us! It has been wonderful!

These are our "Oh my! God is so crazy good!" faces after a meeting with a local pastor.  Just when we thought the door to partnership was closing, God blew it wide open! He is so good like that!

Maddix and I are all smiles at Oak Chapel United Methodist Church. We had a wonderful time worshipping and enjoying a meal (hot dogs!:)) together! Maddix and Sophie even sang a song with daddy in front of everybody!

Thank you for taking praying for our family seriously. God is moving in incredible ways and He's building our team at an encouraging rate! We praise Him!
